Answering the Questions Myself

By growing up with Matthew and by spending a tremendous amount of time with him I learned that good things take time. It took Matthew a long time for him to walk when he was little. He started with scooting on his butt and slowly made his way to walking. Good things, even like walking, take time and require an immense amount of patience.

2.) Without Matthew, describe how our family would change and what we would be missing?

Without Matthew, I believe that my family would not have the same patience as we have today. Matthew often asks us all to repeat stories that we experienced that he finds funny. He sometimes asks us to tell the stories three times in one day, right after the other. My family has grown used to this and never second guesses to not repeat the story to Matthew. Matthew actually face timed me today to ask me to repeat a story that occurred in my middle school and another story that happened in high school. He asked me to repeat the middle school story twice back to back, and chuckled after. Each time I tried to hang up to hand in a homework assignment for my Religion class, he would say “uhhh Wait Ella… what team did you guys lose to in High School again, your senior year?”, and “You’re using Spotify, not apple music right?”. I really don’t know what he has against apple music but he hates it. But anyways, Matthew’s frequently asked questions and liking for repetitive storytelling is one of the reasons why my family is so close. We all like to laugh at these stories with Matthew, and whenever he asks us to imitate what a movie character or TV show character says, we all get in on the joke and like to laugh with Matthew. These stories formed to create ongoing inside jokes that not only Matthew, but my entire family is laughing at.

3.) Favorite trait, memory, or favorite thing about Matthew?

Matthew is so hardworking and and always gives 100% in whatever he does. Despite the many obstacles he faces, he still perseveres through everyday. This is apparent in the fact that Matthew plays two sports in high school, with an impaired set of motor skills and low muscle tone. He works out in the gym with a trainer 3 times a week and is always willing to get stronger and faster.
