Stress often seems natural in our modern lives. But this stress harms our body like a poison. Luckily, relieving stress doesn’t have to be difficult — or take long at all.

Sometimes we get so caught up with external events that we can’t separate ourselves from the commotion. We just can’t help but overthink.

That’s where some basic mindfulness practices come in.

Below are 5 techniques you can use to instantly be less anxious.

Feeling overwhelmed and want the quickest solution?

Count to 10. Simple as that.

You might be asking yourself “why would that work?”

Counting to 10 forces you to break your thought pattern and stop overthinking.

It doesn’t matter if you’re in the middle of something and can’t make the time for one of the other practices.

You can always make time to count to 10.

Many people think meditation and mindfulness are the same thing, but it’s really only one part of it.

It also doesn’t have to be difficult if you’ve never done it before.

Here is one of my favourite techniques, called Leaves on the Stream.

This exercise makes us aware of our thoughts and calms the monkey mind.

It’s also a great exercise to relieve stress. And it only takes 10 minutes to show results!
