In Mar 2020 the world changed forever.
The pandemic swept across the globe, locking us in our homes.
Businesses had to go remote overnight — adopting Zoom or Teams as their communication channel of choice.
And by the end of 2022, 17.4% of employees were mostly working from home in the UK — up from 14.2% a year earlier in 2019.
The rest were barely coping, adopting a hit or miss hybrid strategy.
The problem?
They were approaching a hybrid world with in-person policies.
While they offered some flexibility, they didn’t rethink their approach to work. A huge opportunity was missed.
And their best talent was becoming disengaged, because they weren’t meeting their needs.

Do NOT mandate going into the office.
Let your team decide where they work and they’ll choose a location that makes them the most productive.
But, if you do want your team back in a couple days a week…
Then make sure you define a clear WHY:
If you’re struggling for answers…
Then you’re better off as a fully remote team.
But, if your answers do roll off the tongue…
Then make sure you communicate them.
Everyone hates commuting for no reason.
So, give them a reason.
Only then will they choose to travel in.
