The Mercy Rule in Politics?
In college baseball if a team is leading by 10 runs at the beginning of the 7th inning, the Mercy Rule can be applied and the game terminated.
It is intended to spare the losing team of an embarrassing conclusion.
Do we need a Mercy Rule in politics? I think we do.
“Hmmm, the Mercy Rule? Might not be a bad idea.”
I propose a Political Mercy Rule wherein a fair minded third party — like me, your Big Red Car — would evaluate a presidency and if there is a series of blunders the Political Mercy Rule would be invoked and I would pick a new President to replace the current occupant of the White House.
Who could possibly object to this?
What is the evidence to support this assertion, you ask? Do you argue this is not a failed presidency?
1. President Biden has unilaterally destroyed the nation’s sovereignty by throwing open the nation’s southern border to a flood of more than 2,000,000 illegals.
The number 2,000,000 is only those caught. The reality is likely 4,000,000. We were at the lowest illegal immigration in 20 years when President Biden took office.
In the midst of a deadly Pandemic, President has not only admitted these criminals, but has distributed them around the country at taxpayer expense with no COVID testing and knowing that up to 40% are positive for the ‘vid. They are also not tested.
A President cannot pick which laws his administration will enforce. He takes a Constitutional oath to enforce all the laws.
2. In the first week of his presidency, President Biden destroyed American energy independence by declaring war on energy — cancelling Keystone XL Pipeline, banning drilling in ANWR, freezing all Federal lands auctions, leases, and fracking — that resulted in American crude oil production plummeting from 13.1MM bbl/day to less than 10MM bbl/day in less than 90 days.
Is there any mitigating information to counter this real world result?
The loss of American energy independence dramatically increased crude oil prices globally thereby triggering massive inflation, but also enrichening the coffers of Russia thereby unleashing their mischievous intent.
We bloody well now import Russian oil into the US. WTF?
3. #2 above resulted in the price of gasoline doubling in much of the country thereby initiating and then further exacerbating the inflationary spiral. This is a tax on every person who drives an internal combustion engine propelled vehicle. it is a tax on every product transported by truck or rail or air.
4. Inflation was at a steady 2% for the last decade. When President Biden came into office, the Sec of Treasury Janet Yellen saw energy was a problem and whispered, “Our target for inflation shall be 4% and it is . . . . . transitory.”
“What the Hell is going on here? Don’t ask me, I’m just the Secretary of the Treasury!” Huge confidence builder.
We are now at a record high — 40-year high — level of inflation and there is no monetary or fiscal policy initiative in sight to counter it.
Everybody has stopped using the word “transitory.”
5. The Pandemic — on this one I am initially inclined to give President Biden a pass if only he hadn’t blown smoke up our collective asses during the campaign screaming that he had a secret plan to kill the China Virus.
I am OK with a few campaign lies, but this was over the top, particularly because he clearly never had a plan, has no plan, and has made the entire situation hopelessly chaotic and worse.
I honestly believe that the only way out of this Pandemic situation is to burn Dr. Fauci at the stake like Joan of Arc. Might be a little extreme.
Luckily, Pfizer and Moderna stock prices are rising.
6. Afghanistan, the withdrawal, was the biggest jug fuck in the history of American arms. It was horrific.
The disturbing, indisputable facts are that we left people behind, that we lost 13 soldiers and Marines, that our American-advised Afghan National Army was a joke, a very expensive joke, and that nobody has been held accountable; not a single general has been relieved — unacceptable.
This pathetic performance is in the forefront of Putin and Xi evil little minds as they evaluate American resolve and capabilities.
7. We are on the brink of war in Ukraine.
Harsh truths: Ukraine holds no strategic importance to the United States. We have not given Ukraine the support they need — weapons — to fight the Russians.
I think the Russians are grossly overrated and that Ukraine could put up a damn good fight if they had the right weapons — shoulder fired anti-tank and anti-air missiles, tanks, artillery, and ammunition.
Ukraine is a rotten corrupt country that thinks Hunter Biden is a legitimate businessman.
The Russians are going to make NATO and the US squirm because they can, because they have taken President Biden’s measure, because they know the US and NATO will not fight (I do not think we should fight), and because they can afford to because with crude oil looking down on $100/bbl, thanks to the Biden War on Energy, they can afford to.
8. President Biden has conferred “great nation” status on Russia, a country whose economy is as big as Italy’s. Russia, of course, unlike Italy, has a plethora of nuclear weapons.
President Biden withdrew American opposition and sanctions against the Russia — Germany Nordstream II gas pipeline, receiving nothing for NATO or the US or Germany in return.
President Biden extended the 2010 START (Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty) agreement thereby releasing Russia from competitive forces of NATO and received nothing — ZILCH — in return.
President Biden increased by a factor of 3–5X the value of the Russian government’s share of the crude oil bonanza thereby financing Russia’s adventurous and evil schemes.
Russia, a thugocracy overseen by a former KGB functionary, will continue to press the West until we hit them across the nose with a 2X4.
9. President Biden has allowed Iran to engage in unfettered mischief such as arming and supporting the Houthis and attacking American Middle East facilities that house American military members with missiles while re-entering negotiations with Iran to put them back on the path to making a nuclear weapon. This is madness.
The Iranians try to kill our soldiers with rockets and the US State Department sits down with the Iranians in Vienna and have kaffee as if they were a civilized nation. Madness.
President Biden withdrew support to oppose the Houthis thereby providing Iran with a huge victory in a troubled region.
10. This Joe Biden chap was supposed to be a great uniter, healer, a bi-partisan building master legislator, and a master of the Senate and thereby capable of advancing a powerful legislative agenda to Build Back Bolshevik.
Your Big Red Car thought the old boy might really be able to deal with the Senate as he had worked there for 412 years, no?
President Biden has advanced one unsuccessful and absurd piece of legislation after another and has failed wherein he was supposed to be the strongest. He is a legislative hot mess and it will only get worse as he attacks the filibuster and the SCOTUS.
11. President Joe Biden was never a smart, clever, intellectually agile, or accomplished man in his mediocre Senate or Vice Presidential career.
He was a punch line. The Senator from MBNA. The wizened bald head to the slick, silver tongued Obama.
He is now a 79 year-old-man in cognitive decline from a low point that found him graduating at the bottom of his law school class whilst lying and saying he was a top 10% performer.
We are evaluating a deteriorating, middling, uninspired grifter of no demonstrable mental acumen.
President Biden belongs in God’s Waiting Room (Florida), on the Gulf side where the waves are not going to knock him off his unsteady hairy legs, living out his golden years enjoying the largess of his grift.
Nobody disputes that the man who has held two pressers in a year is in command of his faculties or that he even possessed any wits.
What is happening now is cruel.
The Biden administration, President Joe Biden, is a failed presidency.
Say it out loud because you know it’s right. Even the Dems don’t intend to run him again. The old boy is beyond his “sell by date” at 79.
Would anyone vote for a Biden presidency that would end with an 86 year old President Joe Biden?
It is time to invoke the Political Mercy Rule and find someone who can run the joint before he destroys it.
Just don’t say “Kamala Harris.”
