Chasing

Everyone is chasing something, whether it’s a dream, money, happiness, career, or maybe, love. But whatever it is, we have bought into idea, as a society, that things are what will make us happy. The money, the promotion, the status, the gift, the relationship, the party, the — whatever you named it. We have replaced the journey with the destination, the process with the result, and the chase with the catch.

Huffingtonpost once ever said that the problem stems from the natural human inclination to place ourselves at the center of the universe. We experience ourselves, and rarely get glimpse into our position in the bigger picture. Is it wrong? Obviously not. In this cruel and chaos world, start in the morning when the sun rising, we chase the things that inevitably and without fail will leave us unsatisfied in the process. While, I think, in the pursuit of being human, we must focus on the process; not the result.

Everyone has their right to catch something, or in a larger way — everything. And by telling all my friends that they deserve everything, I really mean it. But we must realize that it’s not always possible. Sometimes, chasing after something like some ultimate goal and having it constantly elude you can be downright demoralizing.

So please, we might need to take a break, and enjoy every little things. In a long way, we are going through some confussion as to what we want. And by taking a break, we let ourselves to breathe. To simply thinking about nothing and be grateful for everything that happened. And, I hope, after taking a break, we will have full power energy to (again) chasing our something.
